As it is volunteer run, we need sponsorship to fund it. I have identified who my ideal sponsors are and my offer to them. I also have their contact information. I have been calling the CEO of the target sponsor companies, but I cannot get them on the phone because I always get the secretary and the secretary does not pass my message on to the CEO. How can I get past the secretary and talk to the CEO about sponsorship for this event?
Here, I know information and background about their brand and I know that the person needs:
- Sponsorship;
- Knows who their sponsors are;
- Know what the offer to them is; and
- Know how to find the contact details.

A NOT so great question could be:

Here, I know information and background about their brand and they need sponsorship yet I DON’T know what the person has tried before to get the CEO to return their calls:
- Do they know who their ideals sponsors are?
- Do they know what the offer to these sponsors is?
- Do they know how to find the contact details of sponsors?
- Who are they talking to so far?
If I don’t know the answers to the questions, I can’t give in depth help on how they can get past the secretary and talk to the CEO about sponsorship for this event, because my advice will be divided by giving higher level advice on the above four unknowns.
