In 2014, I was the head of marketing for an adult ecommerce site.
Because of the industry, it was really hard to find ad platforms who would allow it to advertise.
There were a few ways round it for larger platforms like Facebook, such as creating a doorway page….
TANGET: A doorway page is a page that then bridges to another page.
What you would do is get an ad approved with the correct taregting criteria and tamer ad image to the doorway page, then you would redirect the page to the actual page you want to promote after the ad was approved.
Or you would create an ad around the problem, not the solution and get that approved to a doorway page that then links to the actual page you want to promote.
But regardless, Facebook ads weren’t converting so it didn’t really matter.
ANYWAY: The traffic source that did convert really well for really cheap, was Stumble Upon Paid Discovery (which now no longer exists.)
Stumble Upon was a discovery engine that pushed web content recommendations to its users.
Then on June 30, 2018, StumbleUpon was shut down in favour of a new discovery platform called Mix, who didn’t have the same size userbase or ad platform.
Booooo to that!
This type of situation has happened to me more times than I can count over the last 20 years.
What I realized was that any one source of attention, awareness or traffic could change at any moment.
And if you have a single source of source of attention, awareness and traffic, your business is vulnerable.
To insulate again this risk, you need ore than source of attention, awareness or traffic.
You need diversified lead sources.
Diversified marketing channels are your safety net.
Kinda like Roses wooden raft in the Titanic — when attention, awareness and traffic is sinking , you can stay afloat!
The business I was helping market had to find new sources of attention, awarness and traffic ASAP!
I did.
But, how did I go about getting diversified lead sources?
It takes 5 steps:
1. Know who your dream customers are; then you need to
2. Know where they are and who is the gatekeeper; then you need to
3. Add value to the gatekeeper who have them; then you need to
4. Ask those gatekeepers for reciprocal favours by way of access (either paid or free) to attention, awareness and traffic they have; then you
5. Repeat steps 3–4 indefinitely.
If you are reading this, I assume you know STEP #1, who your dream customers are.
Now, STEP #2, knowing where your dream customers are and who is the gatekeeper to accessing them, until now, has been a matter of time-consuming market research.
But there is a quicker and easier way…
Over the years, I created a cloud-based software tool (Gmail required) that finds new marketing channels to access.
Having software that does this in a systematic and automated way leaves you time to do more important things.
All you have to do is input a keyword and it will find:
1. Niche Websites;
2. Mainstream Websites;
3. Bloggers;
4. Instagramers;
5. Tweeters;
6. Twitter Lists;
7. LinkedIn Profiles;
8. Facebook Groups;
9. Facebook Pages;
10. YouTubers;
11. YouTube Channels;
12. Subreddits;
13. Quora Profiles;
14. Podcasters;
15. Press & Media; and
16. TikTokers.
…which you can then:
• Add value to them (STEP #3); and
• Ask them or reciprocal favours by way of access to the attention, awareness or traffic they control (STEP #4).
This equals 50 channels for Mainstream Websites and Press & Media Outlets PLUS 10 channels for other 16 platforms for a total discovery of up to 240 new marketing channels per search.
So, if you have been struggling with finding new paid and earned marketing channels quickly and easily, then this new version will most likely help you!
I’ll give you lifetime access to this software and short video training on to use it for $29.
And if you don’t like it, I’ll refund you the whole amount.
